We accessed a total of £18,000 including matched funding. This will go towards our Music for Autism and Serenading community programmes
As part of our Serenading initiative, OSJ musicians have delivered more than 40 bedside serenades and mini concerts across community and mental health wards in Oxfordshire. Over 500 patients, staff, and families have experienced the joy of live music — from violins and clarinets and even a Native American flute.
The impact has been profound: patients have reported lifted moods, reduced anxiety, and moments of beautiful connection. One bereaved patient said the music “brought the sunshine back into his life.” Staff have seen reserved patients sing solos, dance, and rediscover joy.
This season, help us bring the healing power of music to hospitals, care homes, and communities. Every donation to OSJ through The Big Give Christmas Challenge is doubled — meaning twice the music, twice the impact.
