ACE Funding Decision: SUCCESS! – Orchestra of St John's | Taking classical music out into the community

ACE Funding Decision: SUCCESS!

We were delighted to hear this week that our application to Arts Council England has been successful, and we have been awarded funds to continue with our next community project.

This month we have been extending our work with Oxford Spires Academy. We are working with a multicultural group of Year 12 students, who will draw upon their individual heritages to write a collaborative composition. They will then be involved in the performance of this multi-media orchestral piece, with the aim of generating intercultural artistic dialog in the wider Oxford community.

The final performance will take place in July 2020 as part of the Oxford Festival of the Arts.
