Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll was composed to celebrate the birth of his first son, Siegfried. We’ll perform this joyous work alongside Glazunov’s evocative Intermezzo Romantico, Coleridge-Taylor’s lively Danse nègre, and Fauré’s Four Songs, sung by the arresting Ilona Domnich.
SOLD OUT. A small choir of professional singers will perform some of English choral music’s greatest works, from Tallis to renowned film composer Harry Escott, alongside a choral arrangement of Vaughan Williams’ sublime Lark Ascending with international violinist Jan Schmolck
A soaring solo violin, a gentle harp, the warmth of a string orchestra… Schoenberg’s atmospheric Notturno for Strings and Harp, composed when he was just 17, is an underperformed delight. Join us to discover this gorgeous work alongside beautiful pieces by Wolf Ferrari, Debussy and Suk, performed with the wonderful Keziah Thomas.
