Dorchester Abbey

The sacred oratorio for soloists and double choir and double orchestra, heralded as one of greatest pieces of Baroque sacred music.

Garwyn Linnell's cello is at the heart of this concert. In the cello suite No. 2 Bach is at his most intimate.
The plangent cello in Syvati  represents the Priest, the choir sings as the coffin is borne out of the church.
Durufle's Requiem is often described as the only worthy successor to Faure's. Duruflé’s sensuous harmonies suffuse every note with feeling.
