• Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Strauss – 6pm at SJE Arts

Operatic orchestral highlights from The Bartered Bride and Die Fledermaus, as well as ever-popular Strauss classics, will transport you to the glamour of the ballroom and beyond.

    Written in 1948, Britten’s captivating Cantata conjures the adventures of St Nicholas, depicting the exploits, magic and miracles of this most beloved character. With its inclusion of popular hymns, OSJ Voices will join together with the audience to raise the roof in song, ensuring that the Christmas gift of music is delivered in perfect harmony. We start with a Sequence of Carols orchestrated by Jeremy Lubbock.

  • Ravel – 6pm at SJE Arts, Oxford

    SJE Arts Iffley Road

    In this delightful evening of music and song, OSJ Voices perform two pieces for a cappella choir by Debussy and Ravel, whilst soprano Hannah Davey once again performs the vocal acrobatics of Gliere's incredible concerto. The evening ends with Ravel's poignant suite for piano. Composed between 1914 and 1917, each of the six movements is dedicated to friends killed at the front.

    A highlight of our musical year, we celebrate Easter with our annual performances of JS Bach's sacred oratorio. Featuring some of Bach's most delicate chorales and rousing choruses, this depiction of the last few days of Jesus's life is as powerful today as it was when it was written nearly 300 years ago.
