Marking Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey’s final concert as OSJ’s Associate Conductor, join us for a powerful evening uniting music and the moving image.

Reflecting some of the key questions of our time, including the environment and social equality, this multisensory performance will present live OSJ’s newest commissions for string orchestra and film, Many Worlds in One Place, Earth Flow and Reaching Water. Alongside will sit gorgeous music by some of the silver screen’s finest composers including Shostakovich and John Williams, as well as Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel, accompanied by film and live artwork created in response to the music.

In this collaborative concert, OSJ will perform alongside talented Welsh violinist Siobhan Clough, Oxford-based alternative pop duo pecq and visual artist, Hugo Max from the Oxford Ruskin School of Art. Centre-stage is Many Worlds in One Place, a new work by award-winning composer Toby Young and filmmaker Ross Harrison, created in partnership with forced-migrant students and their peers from the Oxford Spires Academy.

This is one of a series of socially distanced chamber concerts at SJE Arts.

To accommodate social distancing rules, we are  offering a short concert of about 1 hour with no interval, starting at 8pm.

We will follow strict procedures. Seating will be preallocated by household.
