    Elgar's Enigma Variations present a bucolic image of pre-war Britain, his cello concerto is a much-loved staple of late Victorian English concert repertoire. Yoanna Prodanova plays on a Giuseppe Gagliano cello. We open with Brahms' Tragic Overture.

    The plangent cello in Syvati  represents the Priest, the choir sings as the coffin is borne out of the church.
    Durufle's Requiem is often described as the only worthy successor to Faure's. Duruflé’s sensuous harmonies suffuse every note with feeling.
