The sublime beauty and simple power of music is showcased in this evening’s concert. Soprano Ilona Domnich, described by Opera Now as having a voice of ‘silken beauty’, joins the orchestra and OSJ Voices to perform two pieces from the German Austrian greats Brahms and Strauss on a theme of farewell, serenity and peace.
Beethoven’s mighty third symphony strikingly marked the end of the classical era. Tonight’s concert sees it perfectly paired with the final orchestral work of his worthy successor, Johannes Brahms. Soloists Charlie Lovell Jones and Yoanna Prodanova come to the stage alongside OSJ Voices for this evening of seminal works from the German masters. The concert starts with Agnus Dei, Barber's own arrangement for choir of his Adagio for strings.
Our final concert this spring celebrates the sounds of strings and piano in all their richness. Internationally acclaimed British pianist Ashley Fripp joins the orchestra to perform equally wonderful works written centuries apart by Bach and Finzi. The strings of OSJ will also perform Finzi's Rom,ance, and Tchaikovsky’s heartfelt serenade, filling SJE Arts with music of beauty and tenderness to round off our season.

New House in Hanney, Oxfordshire plays host to a charming afternoon of intimate music, delicious food and wonderful company. Piano, clarinet and four voices come together to perform the exquisite music of the early 20th-century French group Les Six. Not to be missed!
