SUMMARY:Harp and strings. 7pm at Dorchester Abbey
DESCRIPTION:“Totally original and engaging” — New York Concert Review of Keziah Thomas \nInternationally acclaimed harpist Keziah Thomas and Orchestra of St John’s present an evening of sublime music for strings and harp at Dorchester Abbey. Join us and be transported. \nSchoenberg Notturno for Strings and Harp\nWolf Ferrari String Serenade\, Scherzo and Presto\nDebussy Danses Sacrée et Profane\nSuk Serenade \nA soaring solo violin\, a gentle harp\, the warmth of a string orchestra… Schoenberg’s atmospheric Notturno for Strings and Harp\, composed when he was just 17\, is an underperformed delight. Join us to discover this gorgeous work alongside beautiful pieces by Wolf Ferrari\, Debussy and Suk\, performed with the wonderful Keziah Thomas. \nAs Covid is still with us in Oxford\, this will be a short\, hour-long concert with no interval.  Orchestra and audience will be requested to continue to maintain socially distancing. \nWhen you purchase tickets\, we politely ask that you add a voluntary donation\, equal to the price of a ticket\, to support our work in the community and with children in Special Educational Needs schools.
