What the Press Say

"The Orchestra of St John's gave an outstanding performance in only two works and played with such intensity and drive that any additional music would have overwhelmed their impact."

» OSJ gains a new team member

After some tough interviews we have finally appointed our new Concerts Assistant. After graduating recently from Kingston University with a degree in Music, Bex Gibson decided to stay on in London and work behind the scenes to get to grips with the administrative side of orchestral life.

During her time with the Orchestra of St John’s, Bex will be working closely with Vicky our Concerts Manager to organise each concert including everything from sending out schedules to ensure everyone is at the right place at the right time, to dealing with player queries and creating pay sheets.

A bassoonist – it transpires that Izzie (our Development Officer) and Bex have played in the same orchestra in years gone by! – she continues to teach flute and hopes to start gigging in a vocal duet in the near future.

Bex joined us on Monday 21 July and was lucky enough to have a whirlwind of a first day with our conductor John Lubbock making a rare appearance in the office.  There is no such thing as an average day in the OSJ office and Bex has taken it all in her stride! Off to a superb start, we are happy to have Bex with us and wish her every success for the six months she is with us at the Orchestra of St John’s and in her future career.
