| About the Orchestra of St John's |
|
The Orchestra of St John's is one of classical music’s best kept secrets. We pride ourself in being different from other orchestras - not just part of the music scene, but at the heart of the community and part of the life surrounding it.
Founded by John Lubbock, Artistic Director, the OSJ has taken many exciting paths over the years - from performing spellbinding concerts across the UK, with world famous soloists such as Dame Felicity Lott, Sir James Galway, Yuri Bashmet, Tasmin Little and Stephen Isserlis.
One of our passions is providing music to families and their children living with autism. Over the last 10 years, through our involvement with Music for Autism, we have helped and inspired over 30,000 autistic children by giving 50 free concerts a year in specialist schools. You can read more about our work with Music for Autism in this article which recently appeared in the Telegraph magazine.

What the Press Say
"The Orchestra of St John's gave an outstanding performance in only two works and played with such intensity and drive that any additional music would have overwhelmed their impact." Yorkshire Post
