What the Press Say
"The Orchestra of St John's gave an outstanding performance in only two works and played with such intensity and drive that any additional music would have overwhelmed their impact." Yorkshire Post |

Support Us
The cost of concerts
Putting on concerts and running an orchestra is an expensive business; operating as a charity, we don't make any profits. Ticket sales only account for a maximum of 40% of a concert's costs and the gap has to be made up in support from public subsidy through Arts Council England, grants from trusts and foundations and the generosity of personal donors.
In 2004, Arts Council England decided to stop funding most chamber orchestras (including OSJ) and so our Orchestra relies even more heavily on support from personal donors. If we charged our audience the real cost of putting on a concert, tickets would cost nearer £60 each!
To help cover our costs and continue the Orchestra of St John's music making, please join our Friends and Supporters.
