Meet the Orchestra
Staff and Vacancies
The Orchestra of St John's office is run by a small team of full time staff who are able to deal with any questions or queries you may have. Simon Funnell
Chief Executive
The Chief Executive manages the Orchestra's activities, finances and staff and proposes (and implements) the Orchestra's strategic direction.
Simon's musical life began at the age of four when he started learning the violin under the Suzuki method. At ten years of age he joined the Chapel Royal Choir at St James's Palace, where he took part in many state occasions including the annual Royal Maundy and Cenotaph Services as well as the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince Andrew to Sarah Ferguson in 1986. Simon trained as a Broadcast Journalist, but decided to follow a career in music, working for five years as an Artist Manager for Robert Gilder and for a year as Administrator for the King's Consort. Simon became Director of Marketing and Development for the Orchestra in January 2005 and was promoted to Chief Executive in 2007.
