All of the Orchestra's Board of Directors have a non-executive role, although they are ultimately responsible to the Charities Commission for ensuring that the way the orchestra is run is financially sound. They also mentor and support the staff within the management team by bringing their own business experience and advice as well as promoting the orchestra to help it attract sponsorship and fundraising. A General Manager in finance, Peter's career has spanned the UK, Middle/Far East and North America. Peter recently set up his own consulting practice serving European financial institutions. Peter has a passion for music and a strong determination that the Orchestra should blend artistic excellence with commercial discipline.
Gordon Moultrie - Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors
Gordon Moultrie began his career with the communications and advertising group Ogilvy Benson & Mather. He is currently running a business development and a communication company and is a partner in an international management and executive search consultancy. Gordon Moultrie has been an active musician himself, as a member of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus.
Rob Dixon - Board member
Rob Dixon is an IT specialist with a long career working as an independent which includes periods working for organisations such as IBM. He also has a strong interest in both the visual and performance arts.
Andrew Moorfield - Board member
Andrew Moorfield is Managing Director of Lloyds TSB's Oil, Gas, Energy and Housebuilding & Building Materials Sectors. Prior to joining Lloyds he was Managing Director within Bank of America's European investment banking division and also founded the bfinance.co.uk internet portal. He was also Director of Corporate Finance & Capital Markets for Diageo plc and has worked for Citibank, N.A. where he was a Vice President responsible for a range of UK clients. Andrew is an Australian citizen and has an Economics degree from the University of Melbourne (1988) and an MBA from the Wharton School (1993). |
