What the Audience Say"2010's Music in the Abbey saw four days of fantastic music in the beautiful setting of Dorchester Abbey.
The Fibonacci Sequence Chamber Ensemble began proceedings with a stunning performance of some best-loved chamber music. On Friday we were treated to an impressive concert by rising stars from the Birmingham Conservatoire who showed a depth of musicality beyond their years. Audience feedback was absolutely brilliant.
On Saturday OSJ brought the house down with a concert which culminated in a rendition of Beethoven's 7th Symphony the like of which many had not experienced!
Music in the Abbey wouldn't be complete without a performance by OSJ and OSJ Voices and on Sunday, in usual style, they held the audience spell-bound with a performance of Faure's Requiem."
“We have supported the Dorchester Abbey Festival for a number of years now, but your concert on Sunday was absolutely the best ever - and one of the best I have ever been to in my 40 years of concert-going. Sally Matthews’ rendition of the Four Last Songs was sublime, the OSJ Voices were on top form, and all of you played magnificently with real depth of feeling and passion. Thank you, thank you to everyone for a truly wonderful concert which will live long in my memory- and please come back again next year.”
